Droppy driver's side door

My passenger side door fits great, it opens and closes great.

I followed the same steps to install the driver's side door. It drops down and I have to lift up to get it closed. When closed it fits great. I have taken the door and frame brackets multiple times but no improvement.

Any suggestions??

Hi,

I just finished (mostly) with the doors and had the same problem. First I adjusted the top frame-bracket all the way forward and the bottom bracket rearward. Then I had to put a shim under the bottom door hinge (between the female hinge and the door), and I put another shim on the inside of the door between the frame and the front-door end. You can use thick washers or shims around the bolts; I think all of this helps push the bottom of the door rearward which causes the rear edge of the door up.

And you probably also have to file down the forward door edge so the top female door hinge lays flat.

Also, make sure the body is completely down on the frame; mine was not and it compounded my door adjustment issues.

If your door is "twisted," with the top rear corner in too far and the bottom out too far, you have to loosen the 2 crash-bar bolts, twist the top of the door out, and put a shim in at the top just above the bolts. I temporarily used the leftover exterior door handle shafts, after I cut them to length; just laid them in there for now. Ditto I had to add a couple shims on my drivers door lower hinge to get to where it was good for me. Idk I think the inner frame from ffr is off a smidge which causes this. Rob

Thank you Frank. It was so frustrating that the passenger fit perfectly but the drivers door did not. I will gather some shims and follow you suggestions.
