I am having a difficult time installing the trunk side aluminum panels.
I had the all mocked up and drilled prior to installing the body.
After fitting the body and installing all the fasteners per the manual the panels don't fit.
Do I need to trim the aluminum? a little guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob aka Dodgeman

I had to trim mine by the lower part where the trunk floor meets the body to clear the body lip, other than that, even after installing the weather stripping it fit good everywhere else.

Some trimming was needed when I put them in

I was lucky in that there was a gap between the body that the rubber filled up nicely. But still, there is often trimming around welds, etc. The fun part was working out in which order to feed them into the trunk to get the overlaps correct :)

Ready to remount the body. The trunk floor and front are riveted in. I have the sides drilled and clecoed. Do you rivet the side panels in the trunk before or after mounting the body. Manual offers no guidance other than a photo showing the bulb weatherstrip being pushed on side.

Put the panel in place with clecos at the gas tank panel. Then i like to bend the panel so the last hole in the side panel can be clecoed together to get those side panels out of the way while dropping the body down. Then you can take care of wires and other stuff before worrying about the sides.

Thanks for the tip Peter!
