Hi friends. I wanted to share my recent experience with Holley and the Holley Sniper I purchased.
April 2020, while I was spending money on car parts like a drunken sailor on shore leave in Thailand after a year at sea, I purchased my factory refurbished Holley Sniper, along with the full Hyperspark system, all directly from Holley. Its a whole other story (but maybe it help others starting out), but I have since learned to buy my parts as I need them so parts do not sit beyond their return or warranty window only to discover its the wrong part or something else.
January 2021, I finally get the engine I built and the car to first start. Everything goes good, but I realize the throttle/Idle Screw does not seem to be moving the throttle arm as you adjust the screw. Upon close inspection, the part of the throttle arm that the screw is meant to make contact upon, is not touching. The throttle bracket appears slightly bent or misaligned. It was strange because the throttle operated smoothly and properly and nothing appeared out of whack.
at 10pm that evening, I thought I'd post a couple pictures on the Holley Sniper Facebook Group to see if I was missing something in my analysis or there was an part I failed to receive or attach to the throttle arm. My post was a polite question, not a "F@#k Holley" post. Within 2 minutes there was 25 responses, everything from "is your throttle cable pulling the throttle open?", to "just bend the throttle bracket with a big f'ing pair of pliers".
Also, within about two minutes of posting, I get a private message on facebook. Its a Holley service employee. He tells me to email a picture of my invoice to his provided Holley email address and he would take care of me first thing in the morning. I thanked him and told him it was a factory refurbished purchased in April 2020, but just now installed. He said no worries he would have a brand new, non-refurbished out to me. Sure enough.... next morning by 10am CST, I had an email from Holley containing a new invoice for a brand new Sniper, another email confirming shipping, an email from the employee who contacted me detailing instructions to send my old one back once I receive the new one, and an email from Fedex with a return shipping label.
All I can say is WOW! I've read a lot of compliments on Holley Customer Service, but I have to say... Holley really does know how to take care of a customer.
Sorry for the small pix that you have to click on to open. I havent figured out how to make them BIG
