Quick question for the Hive mind.

I am curious anyone's recent lead time for front LCA's and spindle nuts on the POL sheet. Just trying to get a feel for lead times. I have emailed Dave at FFR a few times about it and he forwarded my email to someone else but not heard back. I have a few other things to button up ( and I ordered the battery drop box mod ) but I am about to come to a screeching halt until I get some mission critical parts. Not complaining as I understand the demand in conjunction with COVID. But was curious about lead times from you guys recently so I will have a rough idea. Thanks!!

Going through this right now with my recently delivered 35 truck build. They're really backed up. Supplier's lead times are long. They are shorthanded so even in-house produced parts are affected. For spindles specifically (also on my POL) just received word this week "out of these for a couple more months." Since I'm early in my build, can work around them for that long. Just hope mine don't get given to someone else when they eventually come in. :p

Spindle nuts shouldn't be hard to find or get. But kind of doesn't matter without spindles. It's hard right now to get definitive answers other than needing to be patient. I'm trying to be.

Thanks for the info edwardb. That helps put things into perspective. I am assuming spindle nuts and 302 engine mounts are stock pieces so I guess I could hit up my local parts store but sort of hate buying things twice. I just did not expect for this rig to go together so quickly.

You might want to do some research on what motor mounts you should be using with your headers with a 302. You want to make sure the side pipes can align properly once on the car. For a 351w I was told by my painter to install Gordon Levy lower profile mounts with the FFR headers or there would be fitment issues. Just something to keep in mind.

I had to pick up some parts from a local supplier that were on POL and FFR reimbursed me for the parts, might want to reach out to them and see if they are willing to do this for you.

The whole POL thing is disheartening, When you buy this car your excitement is off the charts and you come to a grinding halt waiting for backordered parts. I know the whole world is on back order because of Covid, I waited for a radiator for 120 days, then finally bought a mustang rad from Rock Auto. I have the right one now but it sucks when you have to grind to a halt waiting on parts. The small stuff I would just go out and buy. I feel for ya.

Maybe FFR will credit you, if you cancel the mounts. Then go buy them at the parts store. I used Energy Suspension mounts made for the Mustang with the 5.0 engine. Fit perfect.

Just received my remaining POL parts. My roadster kit was delivered end of November so it was about a 2 month delay if that helps.

LCA's, radiator, wheels, etc. Not a big deal because so many other tasks to get done. It is nice to have a roller though, kind of a milestone.

Thanks General!! That really does help. It gives me a rough ETA. Mine was delivered a few weeks after yours.

My roadster was delivered the day after Thanksgiving. The only thing I received was the wheels on the POL so far. I still need the radiator, power steering rack, LCAs, heater, and dash with glovebox. Plus some other small items. I keep emailing for updates but keep getting should be soon or we are waiting on this item but get no estimate of when that will be. I am at the point where I can’t go any further without some of these missing items. I have all the wiring done, aluminum done, tank in, motor in, etc... I stopped working on it and shoved everything in the corner. Now I stare at a go cart that is air cooled, no front suspension and no dash. Waiting has really taken the wind out of my sails on this project. I agree it does ruin the whole experience for me. Moving full steam then everything stops. It was not the experience I was expecting. Another item I struggle with is they have all the money for the items. Most companies will not charge until back ordered items are shipped. The final payment should be total amount minus POL list. Then when ready ship collect or charge my credit card. Don’t get me wrong I am sure I will get the parts, gain momentum back, complete the car and still have fun. It had just really changed the whole experience for me.

I hear ya tmlint. We ordered at the same time. I knew it would probably go this way due to decrease manpower and COVID so I tempered my expectations and mindset from the get go. I started working from the back going forward. What size wheels did you order? I am still waiting on mine.

Just saw the Facebook live video this morning and they are working today and have someone there welding LCAs. Talked about shipping issues they had this week when a Stewart driver got sick. They had fully loaded the truck with 10! Yes 10 kits and had to unload the truck. I know most POL items don’t go Stewart but it seems like a lot of people are ordering the car of their dreams since they can’t go anywhere and are home a lot. (Man, wish that was me I just can’t go anywhere and am home a lot). So they seem to be working hard to get peoples stuff to them. When the frustration hits ( and I know I would feel it if I were in your shoes) just think about how lucky you are to have started the journey when many are still dreaming.

Hey PhilO. I'm not frustrated just trying to gauge how long I will wait so I can adjust my build so I don't run out of stuff to do :) You are right they are busy and down folks so I understand.

My car was one of those cars! Stewart called me and told me there would be a delay because the driver got sick....

Good luck with the POL. I'm sure I'll be in the same boat soon...
