Ordered a Blueprint 347 w/TKX, any sugguestions for an engine stand that will hold the engine/transmission? Saw the Motofeet 2400: https://www.centuryperformance.com/motofeet-engine-stand-ford-modular-v8.html

Thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks.

That works but I would get the wheel kit too.

That's for a mod motor. You want one for a small block. That brand shows this one: https://www.centuryperformance.com/motofeet-engine-stand-small-block-ford.html?category_id=320.

Not sure what your plans or situation is. Does blueprint ship on a skid? (Haven't bought one from them before...) If they do, the skid base will have some kind of blocking or whatever that holds the engine and (I assume) assembled trans. Leave it on the skid base, throw a couple dollies under the skid, and you'll be good to go until it's time to install.

From what I saw at the Build School in Aug 2020 the Blue Print engines are shipped at edwardb describes. My BP 347 with TKO600 arrives in a couple weeks and I plan to remove the sides of the wood crate and set the base on dollies. I can send photos if necessary.

My 347/trans pkg. came with something like those stands bolted to the pallet. The transmission was supported by a block of wood resting on the same pallet. You're engine should come with something similar to support it during shipping. I just used a couple furniture dollies under that.

That's what I do on the rare occasion I have an engine shipped. I have some furniture dollies from HF that I set the pallet on. Quick, easy, and cheap.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll see what the pallet looks like when it comes in. If it doesn't look like adding caster wheels will work I'll jump in and get a roll around.

Here is how mine was shipped. Cover over a very solid 2X8 box with the motor mounts lagged into the 2 x8s and then the trans supported by its mount. You could easily mount casters to the bottom of the box and roll it around.

Sounds like you are just looking for a storage solution for your coupled engine and trans. But I encourage you to build (or buy) an engine run-in stand that will not only store your assembled engine and trans but allow you to run it before installing in the car. It's so much easier to deal with issues like fluid leaks when the engine and trans are out of the vehicle. For a temporary stand you can fabricate one out of an old pallet or common structural wood, a few brackets and some casters. You don't need a radiator as you can adapt a garden hose to feed your water pump. Don't forget to fill your trans with fluid and cap the output shaft.

I've thought of that. Not sure what use it would be after I put the motor in but until it would be installed it would be a cool thing to show off when you have guests over :-). I may just build one while I'm waiting for the coupe to be delivered since I've got a welder and some time.

Since you have a welder, make yourself a good test stand and if you don't see a need for it after your build I'm sure you could sell it. It will give you piece of mind to run it before installing it and should a problem come up, save you a lot of trouble repairing it while it's easy to access.

Have fun with your build.

Converted my engine stand to a run stand as part of my 'Community Outreach' program.

It's modular so it can convert back to a rotating engine stand in about 10 mins.

I asked Mike Forte if it was acceptable to just set my engine directly on the garage floor on it's low-profile oil pan. He said it was fine to do that, so I got rid of my pallet and just used the engine hoist to move it around the garage from time to time. I did put a block of wood under the tail of the transmission for stability, though.
