EX 17-B Grommets

Searched a little in the forum yesterday, but couldn't find what I needed, so I'll just ask. What size does the hole in the body need to be to accept the grommet?

exactly what grommet are you referring to?
I usually use digital calipers to measure the OD of the recessed area of the grommet to determine hole size.

I just measured the relative dimensions of the grommet (IIRC, 1x1.5in) and slowly took away material from the body using a sanding drum on a dremel, until I got the grommets to fit. think of a rectangular hole with rounded corners.
I tried to make the upper and lower holes symmetric, but didn't worry as much from side to side as you have some play/adjustment possible with the oval slots in the outriggers/horns coming off the radiator support.
