All,
I’ve called the vendor but no response.

Does anyone what you can and cannot trim on the seat warmers? I don’t want to ruin them by cutting the wrong thing...

For the back of the seat is any trimming required?

Thanks in advance

I used Forte's seat heaters and did not need to trim anything off for the back and lower seat cushions

you don't need to trim anything at all.

I recall trimming in one direction to shorten them but I would consult the instruction sheet provided. If you don’t have them I can send a copy of it later this evening that details what trimming is acceptable.

Are you installing the ones from Cobra Heat? WarmSeats is the trademark name. Their instructions say they can be shortened length ways but never cut to reduce the width. "Never cut the areas covered with adhesive tape". Elements are 11 inches wide and step 3 shows where they can be cut.

FYI I did not need to cut mine. Went in no problem.

No trimming required on my install. The bottom pad does roll over the front seat foam.

These are the heaters I used: http://www.cobraheat.com/WarmSeats-Waterproof-Seat-Heater-_p_9.html

I have the Cobraheat Seat warmer just like the link...

Ok — I see how you installed the bottom without trimming - I’ll do that!!

How did you install the back of the seat - did you stuff it up or take everything part?

Thanks,
Matt

I just stuffed it in after opening up the cover at the bottom edge:

All,
I got into the seats last night...the install seems like a breeze. Last quick question... The Waterproof Cobra Seat warms only came with one adhesive tab in each seat kit...where did you use the adhesive tab? Rear of the seat? or Bottom?

Thanks,
Matt

If you're talking about the foil stuff that came with them, I think that is only used if you trim the pads.

I didn't use the adhesive tabs. The heating elements have stayed put without them.

I have the Kirkey seats and had to trim down the pads. I think that I cut about 1/3 of them off. Just cut across them, not up/down. I used the same spray glue for the carpets to hold the pads in place. They haven't moved at all.
