I didn't see this covered elsewhere but when you order a FF special ordered engine from Blueprint it looks like the cost is $7,615.

When you look at the same engine without the FF special order it is $4,499.

My question is whether that difference is worth $3,116 to get the engine created special for the roadsters?

I suppose it looks like a different water pump, adds the 100 amp 1 wire alternator and, has the pulleys that will fit in the roadsters.

Am I missing something here and is it worth the extra $3K plus or acquire the water pump, pulleys and alternator separate?

My apologies in advance if this is a dumb questions.

If you have looked on Summit or Jegs the pulley set up alone is about $1500, and there are no dumb questions. I looked all over the place for engines and trans and I kept coming back to Blueprint. I wanted to put my car together quickly, I'm old and never know how much time you have left, and I did not want to source all the parts, take time at the machine shop and the like. All in all it takes about 90 days to put a motor together between finding an engine, buying parts, and machine shop times. I liked the warranty and all the good press about Blueprint. Yep you can save money doing it yourself. Me personally I wanted a turn key motor and trans assy and thats exactly what I got. And I paid a premium dollar for it. Just a side note. I went to MVA yesterday to get my title and tags. They told me you better be able to prove the origin of your engine to you. Invoice, Notorized Bill of Sale Etc. Which is one reason my car sailed through MVA. The engine invoice with serial number was all good. Good luck

Thanks for the reply! I'm looking for a turn key also and will go with the Blueprint. As for title and tags, this in Tennessee, there is not a lot you have to do to get the tag/title here.

I had a lot of the same questions before ordering my engine. Aside from the items already mentioned, specific oil pan, properly set up power steering pump, etc.. I ordered mine with the Tremec TKO-600 and is came fully assembled and ready to drop into the car. They even trim the boss on the tail housing for you and include the yoke. Here is a list of parts I figured I'd need if I purchased the items separately just for the bell housing and clutch:

Mcleod Super Street Pro single disk clutch $300.00
Aluminum Bell Housing $267.23
Tremec HD Yoke $180.99
Flywheel “pro-comp” $234.97
VSS Harness $25.00
Reverse light harness $38.00
Pilot bushing $7.00
Clutch kit bolts $4.00
Bell housing to block bolt kit $20.00
Engine guard
Tuff Stuff starter $120.00
Flywheel bolts $15.00

I'd never installed an engine in a car before and the package from BPE went in in fifteen minutes with the help of a few friends. Out of the crate (fully assembled), install the motor mounts, stuff it into the car.
