So back in 2010 a good friend of mine Jeff, (Cobrakai on the forum here) told me of this idea to build a Type 65 coupe. A few years later after lots of weekends working, we were cruising down to the 10th annual Huntington Beach meetup in the coupe we built together.

Now years later I can no longer ignore the itch, I'm getting ready to build my own Gen 3 coupe.

Now that I've spent a few months researching my build and chatting with Jeff about my build plans, I would love to know from those of you who have built a Gen 3 what you wish you could do differently with your builds.

What went well? What didn't? What challenges were new to the gen 3 that maybe weren't previously issues in gen 2? Where there tools you were dying to have by the end? Parts you found that changed the build for you? (Door latches, gauges that were badass etc.)

For context I'm planning a Gen 3 Coyote with full IRS, wilwood BBK, T56 and 3.55 rear end, power steering, AC etc.

I finished a Gen 3 Coupe about a year ago. Drove it about 2,000 miles during last year's shortened season. We love it. Mine is a very similar to your build plan. Gen 3 Coyote, IRS, T-56, etc. No experience with the earlier versions. I did a pretty detailed build thread if you're up to it. Describes what I did, some challenges I had, what worked, etc. Also a walkaround video from the Detroit Autorama last year. Links are in my sig line below.

Perfect thank you! I know there's tons of these posts so I appreciate the Gen 3 specific views.
