Who's seen this about the engine factory?

I had planned to stop by and get a tour while my engine was in production and actually drove right by on my way to Omaha, but it was in the middle of the night and I had a grand daughter about to be born. Maybe someday.

Awesome video! I had no idea that BP had their own new blocks cast. I guess I thought they were an engine rebuilder. Makes sense though that there is no way they can manufacture so many engines with junk yard blocks!

Great video! Thanks for posting. Love the comment on the 'field of dreams'....truly is!

To say the least Rich, I am impressed. I have a whole lot more respect for these engines and builders(BluePrint Engines). Thanks for posting.

That is a fascinating video, shows the method to the madness. I also did not know they poured their own blocks. One wonders if BPE pays a royalty for using a Ford or Chevy design. One wonders if they might ever get into the aluminum block market, with volume lowing end prices.

When I ordered my 347 from them in 2017, they described the block as "seasoned", which implies it was not a new casting. I never studied the casting marks on the block for date codes. I've also heard them discuss specific date code ranges for those that require them for their state's emissions laws.

In my area, it is getting hard to find Windsor roller blocks (351) that aren’t shelled out. I wonder if those new blocks at BP were FSB’s or CSB’s. It’d be nice to be able to buy a new Windsor block that isn’t as expensive as a Dart or Man o War block. Not everyone needs or wants the more beefed up block.

I've got two friends that have engines from BluePrint.

My buddy "Brion" has a "Seasoned Block 350 Chevrolet" that has been in his 21' Baja for over 10 years and it is still going strong.
My other pal "Dave" has an "All-New Casting 400 SBC" that we installed in his Factory Five 33 Hot Rod which pulled 517 HP.
Dave figured if Brion couldn't kill his engine in a decade of "Poker Running" then that was good enough proof for him.
As for me my engine is all Dart, but I think BluePrint is equally good after viewing this video.
If I were going to buy a Complete Crate Engine, then I'd likely look at them for sure.

Thanks For Sharing This Very Impressive Video!

Thanks Rich, I watched the whole thing!

I still don’t know enough to understand why Blueprint engines are significantly less expensive than other crate engines. I remember back in the day when I was having loads of problems and considering replacing my whole engine, the Blueprint shortblocks and longblocks sold by Summit were wildly less expensive than others.

I guess that would explain why they are able to offer stock displacement (ie no overbore) models.

Very impressive I had no idea they are that large of a company. Really impressive video thanks for posting it.

Yes I agree, I also had no idea the factory was so large. Them's loads of block in their "field of dreams"!

Maybe 10 years ago they were much smaller, had low-priced engines due to budget-priced components, grew exponentially, and due to smart manufacturing they can still offer great engines at a great price?

I suspect it goes back to the fact that they exclusively using new blocks (and guessing cranks as well). No wasted time and money going into tearing apart donor engines only to find their junk + the need to carry a larger inventory of rotating parts to suit a range of overbores, etc. and then piecing a complete engine together.
