View Full Version : Body Fitting Journey Continues - Questions about door alignment (no surprise)

All,

I continue working my body install/fitting.

I successfully hung/fit the PS door (with a question below).

Working on the infamous DS door fit/alignment. I thought I had if all prep'd and figured out with all the treads /posts I've read. However when you go to do it your self it gets real.

So in trying to line it up the the door the best I can before I trim it, I it seems impossible to get the upper door radius (smaller) to line up with the body radius then adjust to "align" to the body. I tried to capture what I am referring to in the following pic:

Saw a similar (but less pronounced) issue with the PS door

Is this normal and can be addressed during body work (i.e. knocked down) ?

Thanks as always

They’re all like that. If your bodywork is done properly it’s addressed at that time.

Thank Jeff (as usual).

I’m curious, does this get built up on the body’s or removed from the door or both ?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so here's 2,000 ;)

that they are ...

Thanks !!

Seems to me I will want to minimize the mismatch of the radius at the tradeoff of slight lowering the door extension/transition section that extends to the dash (as I see you filled this area of the door to meet the body)
