Gentlemen,

I bought a pair of these on Amazon which we are now keeping in our Redbone Roadster.
I simply drape it over the pipe when my wife gets out of the car.

The cost was about $25.00 for the 24" X 24" size.
I keep them behind our seats.

Those could make a sexy pair of leg warmers for Cobra days? :p :o

A couple of stainless steel zip ties to hold them on...

Steve, Glad
Glad you posted this. I noticed the original post a few months ago and thought it was a great idea. My wife is vertically challenged and struggles a bit getting in and out of the car. The project is on my list for this spring. Im actually thinking of anchoring the inboard end with a couple of screws and weighting the outboard end with a dowel so it drops out and covers the side pipe when you open the door. Not sure if it will work or not but I thought I would mention the idea in case it would work for others.
Cheers,
Jeff

That sounds like it would protect the paint on the door opening while protecting your wife's leg.

Great Idea!

Maybe an aluminum strip to anchor it inside and two very small Velcro strips on the to hold it to the door with a steel round stock for weight. When the door opens the Velcro would loosen off the door and the blanket would fall down by the weight of the round stock.

Or maybe glue a magnet to the inside of the doors for the steel round stock

These are great ideas! I wouldn't be surprised to see one of our forum vendors come up with a package solution based on these concepts!
