Can you believe it?!? It has been 10 years since we launched thefactoryfiveforum.com!

Have you been here from the start? No? That ok, what are your best memories from the last decade?

Let’s celebrate the last ten years with stories and threads from days gone by.

I for one remember that Factory Five Announced the 818 at the same time as the new forum. And for quite a long time the 818 was the dominant topic! Remember the design threads? Yikes! Fun memories from the early days...

For me personally the HB cruise-in threads have been especially fun... we’ve made a lot of memories!

I’ll chime back in with some fun pics and stories soon... what are some of your best forum memories from the last 10 years?

:)

I sure appreciate all you have done to keep the forum flowing smoothly David.

I joined the forum back in Feb 2011, soon after it started up and not to far after I finished building my roadster
I remember FFCars forum was going through some transition at the time, and some actually thought it may come to an end. i had built up a network of fellow builders, some who became personal friends, and I wanted that to continue.
Initially I thought that this forum was going to be owned, and run, by Factory Five Racing. The "Ask a Factory Five tech' part of the forum, may have helped me form that conclusion. After a short time, I realized most of the replies to the builders questions, were actually from other members, not FFR people..lol

With the 818 just getting underway, I found the majority of new posts on this forum related to them. It took a few years to get the roadster posts really flowing, so initially I just checked in from time to time, to see what was up.

I am always happy to help new builders, when I can, and I believe most members help whenever they can too. Members supporting members, is essential. That's what makes a forum like this one special.

Thanks for all your efforts Dave! Been here since the beginning and also since the start up of the "other" forum and even Mike Senior's "Cobraforum" before that (in other words way back when you were CNGreen ;))

Best memories revolve around the many friendships and shared events that I've been able to attend over all this time; Open House, London Cobra Show, Huntington Beach Cruise In, SEMA.

Good stuff!

Dang, I didn't realize I had joined so soon after launch (my profile shows Oct 2011). I was a tire-kicker wanting to get a feel for this whole thing.. and what I found was hands-down the best forum I've ever been a member of. Yes, there have been a few odd guys on here, but Dave got rid of them eventually(!). Remember that guy with the 37? LOL

Compared to the other forum (which always seemed full of angry trolls) this place is still awesome. And although I've never really met anyone I feel we all have friends here.

Really? 10 years already? I've been here from the beginning and it's been exciting to see it grow. While the "other one" (where I started) seems to be fading. With 10 years of activity, this is pretty much a one stop destination. Thanks David for all you do.

I'm really glad this forum exists because I've made many new friends both online and in-person because of Factory Five Racing.
All I can say is I can't believe it took me six (6) of those ten (10) years to complete my car.
Thanks for starting this forum thread.

Congrats on 10 years and more importantly a "Thank You" to you, Dave and anyone else who has worked so hard to build out this most excellent forum. I've only been on the site for a short while, but had been a lurker for here many years... I just wish I would've joined sooner, but I'm honored to be on this site now.

I've made some great online friends and it the same as in person, great people make this a great site! Each of us has a story to tell and share and to have that "connection" with a desire to build our dream for which is something pretty cool. I do want to thank everyone who contributes to provide solid advice and guidance.

As for past memories, being able to follow along with (Papa) Dave's build thread and to then to meet the man in the flesh and not in the digital realm. To touch and feel and live the experience and take a ride-along in that killer roadster of his, it's surreal! I guess it was my Matrix :p I can only wait to do the same for someone else, and though I would love to ride shotgun in anyone's dream, I so can't wait to drive my own. So, I can only say the memories from all the contributions from everyone who help make this site to be what it is. Long before my time even and even some of who we have lost and I never got to meet. I can begin to single out other names and particular builds or advice given, but it really is everyone! It's all the various discussions, threads and stories that help inspire those of us to overcome obstacles. To be able to find help when it is needed, so we too can eventually cross that finish-line as a winner! I know I definitely could not be building my car to the level that I desire, successfully that is, if it was not for this site! Seriously, there is so much to gain from friends, to knowledge, to tips and tricks and the helpful pictures too! I do look forward to getting to the shows and various cruise-in's as well and make those memories in the future. And I hope to meet many more dream-builder-members that make up this family.

Anyway, c[CHEERS!] - Here's to the next 10 and all future changes to make this a much more richer of an experience. Keep up the great work!

Feb 24, 2011 here.... I'm not what they call an "early adopter"..... took me a few days.
