Roll Bar - Closing the Gap

All,
Any ideas on how to close the gap on the roll bar it’s flush?

I can get it as 1/8 of inch to being flush - I shaved down the metal roll bar posts.

Can you put a spacer under the back down leg?

It's all about the angle. If you've already shaved the inside where it easily moves in and out off of the car, then you just have to get the right angle when sliding it together. When you are least expecting it, it will fall flush.

I didn't have this issue, but are all the legs unbolted? I'm suspecting you should be able to raise or wiggle the main hoop upward a bit until the gap closes.

Had a similar issue on passenger side RB. It's as CV stated. Had to use a long pipe on the rear weldment to attain proper angle. Still snug but doable. Also, heed the advice about drilling bolt holes using small bits and working up in diameter. Good luck Padawan.

Try lifting the main hoop up a bit. Then lift the rear tube to meet it. Then drop everything down together. The hoop doesn't sit straight vertically, and the lower it sits on the mounts, the more it pinches against the rear portion of the rear post.

What EG did is exactly what I did and it worked rather well.

Agree with the wiggling. I also used a bit of spray dry lube that helped them slide easier.

and you can also sand down the female portion of the junction a bit.

I got out the grinder and took more off the back pole - that did not help. Then I took the grinder to the male portion of the top Roll Bar and got it together...
