So I've graduated from Georgia Tech and have cofounded a business here in Atlanta that is very relevant to communities/cars like this one. We're aiming to bring OEM-level safety and integration to the DIY EV space, somewhat similar to the drop-in crate packages that include engine, transmission, wiring harness, ECU, etc. It's something I always thought kits like the 818 are well suited for and I've been super impressed by the builds of those that have done EV 818s. Just by luck, it's very possible our first demo vehicle even comes in the form of an 818! (not my personal 818C at least for now though)
Obviously, we want to hear exactly what people are interested in and tailor our product to that. I've made a brief survey to gather opinions and would really appreciate any input you have (Even if you don't yet know much about EVs)! The survey is super short and should only take 1-2 min.

There some EV SL-C builds on the GT40 forum, might want to make a post over there as well.

Thanks, I'll do that! I haven't been on any of the RCR forums.

I’m having gasoline anxiety already. This is crazy.

That's a new term to me haha. Gas equivalent of EV range anxiety?

Well, let’s see, I’ve been working on my project 818C for 5 years. It runs on gasoline. Would that bother you, knowing that gas is about extinct?
Congratulations on starting your new business! I'm the wrong guy to complete your survey (I did look at it, though), but I'm posting here because I want to offer my encouragement. I've seen videos of an electric 818 on a drag strip so I know there's at least one on the road. You may be on to something...

I completed your survey. If available I would have considered purchasing your drivetrain for my current 818C build. Good luck with your endeavor.

I'd have to go with building another 818 but if I came to that decision it would likely be electric, and I'd be looking at a ready to deploy setup. (Love to, budget is the issue.) BUT -You'd be the go to source I bet.

Planning on using m3 motors with an open source modchip on the inverter, and 12s modified tesla s/x modules. Congrats on your business exciting to have a future with more options!

Thanks! The open inverter boards are popular and no doubt the best way to get a powerful motor/inverter setup affordably right now. If you ever want to chat about EV conversion topics or have some 818 questions, just send me a message here or on our website www.ampereev.com!
