Has anyone pulled the pulley off the power steering from blueprints 347 power steering setup? It has 1/4" threads which the outer bling bolts onto. I just want to make sure those threads are going to support a harmonic balancer puller (which looks like the way forward since it is not the "normal" power steering collar pulley.)

I am not sure of those bolt holes being used as the anchor point for removing the pulley. However, there is a specific puller that is used on the factory power steering pulleys that is available from Harbor Freight that uses the flange on the front of the pulley as the anchor point. The puller is also the install tool when you need to reinstall the pulley. This https://www.harborfreight.com/pulley-remover-and-installer-set-12-pc-63068.html is what I would recommend using.

I have the same set up. I took my go kart out the first time and wound it up and belt kicked off. took it back to the shop and saw the alignment of the power steering pump was off by 11/16 in. So... I cut the spacers, and bolts by 11/16 in and reassembled. Took it out again and ran the motor up and the pulley came off. Back to the shop and found by the witness marks on the inside of the pulley it was only on by a 1/4". Soooo, I ordered new bolts and chrome spacers from a motorcycle shop on line and pressed the pulley on with the pulley press tool to the correct spacing and ran it again. No issues. The give away to me was the gap between the pulley and the pump housing was almost an inch. But i figured its and aftermarket pulley and wasn't sure how big the gap should have been. I didn't take the cap off to see how far it was pressed on originally. Lesson learned.

By the way power steering pulleys have a protruding groove on the front of the pulley a tool locks into for pulling the pulley.

This one has no protruding groove or collar to hook into which which is what is troubling me for this removal.

I can't use a three jaw puller due to clearance issues either.
Give BluePrint a call and ask what they use to install them. Mine is a March setup for all the accessory mounts; not sure if they are using the same stuff today.

If your's is also a March setup, you could also reach out to March's tech support: https://marchperformance.com/tech-support

@papa. the March contact is super helpful. I will reach out to them on pulling options. Installing is fine, as I can use an old school socket and bolt. Just getting this little bugger off is my bug today.

Just a note. This pulley is not a real tight press fit and your right it does not have a pulling flange, however the three bolts on a three leg puller will pull it ok.

Sweet. I will give it a go tonight. Thanks again for the advice. Just having another voice to chat this over with helps immensely!

That was one tight SOB to get off. But the 1/4" pulley holes held up fine. I may heat up the pulley in the oven before I slip it back onto the new pump. Make my day a little easier.

Wow , is that puller bending? Mine pressed on easily so I know it wouldn't be hard to take off. Warming it up would definetely help.

I set the oven to 350* and my PS pulley will slip right on the pump by hand. (don't tell my wife about her oven). Scott

Was putting cylinder sleeves in a 2003 Vrod engine, and slipped the block into the oven late one night.. Unfortunately the burning oil smell gave me away

That sounds like something I would do but the old lady’s nose would find me out, then I have to listen to “ are you insane” “ I cook our food in here” then I would say “ tastes ok to me”
