I was mocking in my cockpit ( and endlessly drilling) after finishing the brake lines, fuel lines, gas tank, rear end and pedal box. My daughters wanted to help so they hopped in to show me where they would sit when they drive LOL! This is why I am doing this.... Seeing the smiles in my girls eyes :) ....... I cant wait to give them a ride but maybe teach them to drive a stick in my fj40 LOL!

Great picture! You may want to start with a Barbie jeep before you let them drive your car! The car is coming along great and really enjoy watching all of you guys build these cars. Hope to be in the same position soon!

Thanks Brandon! I will definitely need to start them on something much more forgiving LOL! I am sure you will be building yours very soon. One bit of advice.... Live on this forum before you start. These guys ( Papa, Jeff Klein, EdwardB, GoDadGo etc etc etc ) will give you tips and tricks that will turn your build into a breeze of fun and enjoyment.

Nothing better than that right there! I taught my daughter how to drive a manual transmission in my 73 Bronco, it has 500hp, 4 shifters and 16 forward gears to choose from. We had a blast and she can drive anything now.

Heck yea!!!!
My dad taught me in a 1940 Willys Army jeep. Those were the best time.

We taught our daughter in a 95 Camry w/ a 5 speed. She was really frustrated at the beginning because her best friend was learning at the same time-in an automatic. She was along w/ her and her one day Mom and later says to me, dang she has it easy- all she has to do is steer and use one foot. She is 35 now and went through the Camry, a 5 speed Corolla, a 5 speed Mazda 3 and finally to an automatic Highlander when the 3rd kid came along. A couple of years ago she told us that they saw an add for some type of Toyota SUV that had a stick shift. They were all excited-hey my next car-yeehaw. Unfortunately it turned out that it was a very early ad for a new model and they had used a Euro version for the video. No stick shifts coming to the US. Now she is dreaming about the new Bronco but I haven't heard if a stick trans is available or not.
