I put Weather Pack Connectors on all my lights mainly because I use these and a lot of other style of connectors at work.140018140020140017140019 Headlights, front turns and tail lights. The connectors,(unless you use singles are fairly large and flat in shape), but they do come in quad cube and various configurations. I was looking to find a way to seal the tail lights as they are exposed to water spray from the wheels. I found these boots on Amazon listed as firewall boots, which are large enough that when the hole was drilled for the boot the connector would fit through the hole as well. A 11/4" hole saw made the hole. They worked perfectly. Here are some pics.

Also there is silicone under where the zip tie is to seal out any water.

Great idea! If you really want to protect the exposed circuit board, you could try to use an epoxy to waterproof the fixtures.

In all the years I've owned and driven these cars, have never had a problem. That's what the splash panel behind the wheel takes care of.

I agree there's a splash panel. But having worked on trucks all my life I have found corrosion can get anywhere.

Hmm I thought when I installed a set of these they were encased in epoxy.

I believe you are correct Mike. They have a thin layer of epoxy, or some other conformal coat material.
