I was wondering if someone at FFR could update us on the installation of the Ford Coyote engine that was being done as well as when the Coyote installation book/guide/bible would be available. :D

Would it be possible to take some pictures as well and post in the roadster forums? Thank you,

Cory

R&D is working on an installation kit... They are making good progress.

Your time will come my son, and one day you shall rule the road with thine Coyote engine. =)

Great news! Will this be an actual kit for purchase or will it be a supplemental manual with parts that you can purchase through FFR?

Yessss, soon! /evil laugh :D

Outstanding!
I am this close to ordering a kit a Mk IV.
Guess I'll need to call and get the "scoop" when I place the order!

Right now it looks like it will be an option on the order form. We will have a set of headers and mounts for the Coyote to bolt right into the kit.

We are working on a Coyote install kit for the 33' as well. There are also new Chevy small block options for the 33'.

For now, the Type 65 Coupe will not be getting a Coyote install kit.

Best regards,

Brian - I just placed my order yesterday for a Mk IV with the 4.6, as I am planning on a Coyote. Kit scheduled completion date is 12 Nov.
Any chance the frame mounts will be for the Coyote by then??? How much difference is there between the mounts. Shims handle the difference?
TIA

Chris,

The 4.6 engine mounts are the same for a Coyote engine. The headers are different. The Coyote option may be available by then. I would say it probably will be, but there is still no official date for the kit yet.

Im am wondering what would have to be done to my MK-IV frame to make it fit, I so far don't even have an engine as yet but the frame is setup for a302. Wondering about the transmission options with the coyote as well.

Best regards,

Thanks Brian - that was what I thought (mounts the same - headers different), so I didn't order headers. I will wait until you start to offer those, since I don't even have the kit, the motor, rear-end, or much of anything yet.
I do, however, have seats!!!

No rush. Just wondering if there is an update for the headers? Also, is someone going to be making an alt bracket for the coyote available to us?

Nothing needs to be done to the frame for the Coyote, FFR sells and adapter plate for the trans that bolts between the trans and the mount, otherwise it bolts right in.
The FFR frame uses the same mount locations for the pushrod 302, 4.6 and the Coyote 5.0.
