Well its been a long year, lost some friends, got myself a Purple Heart, but its over and I'm comming home in one piece. I want to thank all my friends on the Forum for their help with all my questions and for sending me care packages. Want to thank Gordon Levy, Mike Forte and Joey from Performance Automotive for working with me via my wife (my best friend). Want to thank Dave Smith and all his employees for all their help and support. And last and most important, I want to thank my wife for helping me stay strong and for putting up with me talking about the Roadster almost every phone call. It will take me about 10 days to get home from where I am, so this will be my last post till I get home. God Bless all of our Military and God Bless America.

I believe we all are breathing a sigh of relief knowing you are heading home. As many on here have already said, Thank you for your service and thank your wife for her sacrifice. Sorry to hear of your brothers in arms losses. They too, are heros in our eyes. Now get home, get reaquainted with your loving family, and get to building that roadster LUCKY!! Remember this one important rule, NO PICS, DIDN'T HAPPEN! We expect to see pics of your progress. :) Welcome home David!

Dave,
It's about TIME!! Have a good trip, take the time to decompress a bit, it will be different when you get back, no more incoming and such. Spend the time to relax with your family, and get back into the routine of life. Most of all, get ready for the party when you get home, it'll be great to have you back home!

Dave, I don't think we can ever thank you enough for your service in the armed forces. I believe your brothers in arms that sacrificed their lives, would of wanted you to finish what's waiting at home.
You have an exceptional woman waiting - it's rare to have one that's such a strong supporter of all your decisions in life - both of you need to spend time alone when you get back. Don't worry, we'll all be here. If you didn't live so far, I'd come over to help you build!

that last part thats confusing
Sorry, I thought I was pretty plain there.
IMO the entire country of Afganistan, or Iraq, or pick one isn't worth the life of one US soldier.
Our military people put their lives on the line and to me to ask them to do so should be for something meaningfull.
By meaningfull I mean that if the USA or one of our close allies( England,Canada, etc) were to be invaded then we send troops.
My perspective is that it is up to the people of these countries to rise up and overthow these dictators, etc like we saw in Libya.
I have no objections to tossing in some air support as long as it can be done safely for the people in our Air Force.
That said, the Military goes where the Commander-in-Chief sends them and they always have my respect and admiration.
My apologies if this created an off topic in a thread that shouldn't have any but I wanted to clear up any possible misunderstanding of what I meant.

You have heard it 50 times already in this thread, which by my count is hundreds of millions short. Every American has you and your brothers to thank for our safety. here is one more towards that total. Thank you so much for keeping me and my family as well as all Americans safe. Welcome Home!

Welcome Home!!!! Every since I was a young lad and went to the airport with my mother to welcome my father home from Vietnam I still get a lump in my throat when I hear about someone returning from their tour. Please know how much we as citizens appreciate your service to this country and the sacrifice your family endures. I am truly sorry for all those that paid the ultimate price and those that are forever changed in a way most of us will never understand.
It has been great reading your post and seeing your excitement in the prospect of building your dream. I hope you can get some down time with the family and start working on your car soon.
Take care and enjoy the reunion! Get some pictures posted when you can.
