Source for a Gen 1 Type 65 Rear Window?

Hi All,

I am just finishing a ground-up rebuild of my Gen 1 Type 65 Coupe and I need a new rear window and head light covers. The window on my car is plastic. I understand the new cars are glass and will not fit without significant bodywork alterations. I’ve bounced around the internet quite a bit looking for one. I did find a company that will custom build one for me but the price is way out of reach. So, does anybody know of a reasonable source for a rear window?

I did learn from this forum the BRE has headlight covers for Superformance cars. Will these look correct on a FF?

Have you called FFR to find out if they have any?
On the head light covers the Superformance are quite different then the FFR so that wouldn't work.

Hi John,

Yes I called Factory Five first hoping they would have what I need but sadly, they no longer support the gen 1 cars. Thanks for the tip on the Superformance covers. They aren’t cheap and I would hate to be disappointed.

FFR has retrofit hatch glass for the gen 1 and 2 coupes. I have used a couple and they fit well. I would arrange your own shipping. You can also get headlight covers from them.

I had an early Gen 1 coupe (#031) and I retro-fitted to the glass hatch. It fit well with no body modifications needed.

That looks great! Perhaps I will rethink my plan and go with the glass hatch.
