Approaching 10,000 miles on the car. No issues with the transmission or clutch up until about a month ago. Intermittently I am getting a little grinding noise on the 4th to 3rd downshift only. Never occurs on the 2nd to 3rd upshift. No issues on any other gears. Otherwise operation seems completely normal. I have re-bleed the clutch. After I did that I went a couple drives without any issues and then it started happening again recently.
I have been making sure I am getting the clutch all the way in. Makes no difference. Have tried double clutching it a few times. Still makes the grind noise at times. When I hear it start to grind I have been stopping with that gear selection, going to neutral-then 2nd -then 3rd and it goes into gear just fine with no grinding.
Anyone experienced this?
Things I should check?
Any other relevant thoughts?
Appreciate the feedback.

Hey Scott. Unfortunately, sounds like you may be losing a syncro. All those symptoms point to it.
Buy one of these, that'll fix it. https://americanpowertrain.com/the-all-new-tremec-tkx-is-here/

I had a grind on a brand new T5, 4th to 5th shift. Didn't grind shifting into any other gear. Sent it back to Tremec and they shipped me a new transmission.
I'm sorry to inform you but your transmission has been diagnosed with Covid-19. You'll need to quarantine it for 14 days, then carefully remove it and provide it to your locally approved Tremec mechanic to replace the syncro and possibly one or two of your gears.

Try a different lube. When mine started grabbing a little on a quick 1-2 shift I first drained it and then filled w/ new fluid. It kept doing it so I drained maybe a pint out and topped it up w/ some 30W engine oil. The GM synchromesh fluid makes for smooth shifting but I think that it can be a little too slippery w/ some slight wear on the synchros. Synchros need some friction to work. I have done this on several different cars over the years when they either came w/, or I switched to, a fluid that was supposed to make for smooth shifts.

I had an old Tempo that would grind going into 2nd, it was 12 -14 years old at the time. Started only when the engine was hot and got worse over time. A cheap old car so I just lived with it and shifted slowly. Worn synchro.

Mine does that a little and it's brand new. I've found it only occurs if I downshift quickly, If I slow it down a little and give her what she wants the 4-3 shift is smooth as butter.

Make sure your clutch is fully disengaging.

Just shift that thing like you really mean it Scott. You don't think Ronnie Sox, Grumpy, Landry and the boys worried about a little grinding do ya' :p

Seriously though as RBauchman mentioned be sure that the clutch is fully disengaging.

Jeff that's great, I have to perfect the arm wave between 2nd and 3rd gears. :D That's the secret
If it still grinds, chomp the cigar harder

Well known issue in Chevy land. Stock transmission has light duty components.
Recommendation: For virtually indestructible performance, Walsh recommends replacing the standard brass blocker rings with carbon-faced or total carbon units and swapping the original plastic fork pads with brass ones.
PLASTIC FORK PADS? What were they thinking?
