Trunk Carpet, what to use?

Looking for some leads on what to use for truck carpet. I would like to get something with very short nap like some of the marine carpets. The pile on the FFR carpet is a little long for what I want. What are some of the options you guys have used and costs?

I used outdoor carpeting from Home Depot - 40 sq ft (including cubby & drop trunk mods).

Indoor/outdoor carpet from Menard's. Another Martin Ondrus (Broku514) recommendation. I think it cost about 12 bucks.

I ended up buying a black "outdoor" pile carpet 8x10 pre roll at Menards. It was $15. I did some experimenting with it before settling on it and it held up great. I have the older 1st gen MKIV trunk config so had some vinyl edging sewn on the outer edges. Came out great, is thin and durable.

I use Foss "Automarine" in gray from Menards or Lowes on all of them I build. The trunks are kind of dark, especially the upper area hence the gray for better visibility.

Here's an example---I chose this photo of an early Mk4 with the short lived dropped trunk especially for nuhale ;)

This company's 20 OZ Black matches the Factory Five carpet pretty well and it is what I used.

The 24 OZ is what I wish I would have gone with just to be a bit plusher; however, it's the trunk so who cares.

Do not buy their glue if you go down that path because it is meant to be used on wood.

Used a light weight outdoor carpet that matched the FF5 interior carpet. Got it at a fabric store. Found it went around inside & outside bends very tightly. 3M 90 glue

Bear, is the texture on your carpet almost like a heavy felt? That's kinda what I'm looking for. It's hard to tell from everyone's pictures what the texture or pile is, but thanks for the replies give me some ideas.

Its like a felt in that its a very short nap but not as soft as a typical felt. It seems to be bonded to a slightly open weave textile backing. The whole thing is not very thick so it does corners & angles well.

Have some leftover so can send you a piece to see if its what you want, PM your address. If you do want it after you see it will dig through my stuff to see where I got it.

Have had it in my to do pile for quite a while & can't remember off the top of my head where I got it other than it was mail order.
