My engine is almost built but I just found out today the engine builder thought he was doing me a favor by putting on a Torker (twisted design) intake. I do plan on cutting my hood for the scoop. Anybody have any input on whether I will have clearance problems?

My intake is a fairly tall dual plane with a 4.1 inch carb mount deck height. The specs I found for your Torker were 4.5 inch. I have a 1/2 inch spacer under the Sniper unit and another 1/2 inch spacer between the Sniper and the air cleaner. Here are a couple of pictures. You can see there is about 1/2 inch clearance between the air cleaner and the cowl at the rear of the engine compartment. Lots of clearance at the scoop area of the hood. The engine is mounted using Mustang convertible engine mounts which are suppose to make it a little lower.
Your choice of motor mounts, carb and air cleaner will be important but, you should have enough clearance if the specs I found for your intake are correct.

Thanks for correcting me Gordon. What is the height of a Torker intake?

It's about 3/4" lower than a performer RPM and they fit fine

I see. We were both saying the same thing but I suffered a Forum comprehension error. Imagine that.
