A few months ago I posted about my idea to mount the ECU & fuse block for my Connect & cruise LS3 under the bench seat of my truck, I even purchased some 3 inch square steel tube to raise the seat to provide enough room. The main problem with this plan was how to route the large wire harnesses to that location.
So, on to plan B. Since I mounted my AC unit more towards the center of the truck to allow for the heater control valve to mount inside, I was able to utilize the fuse block bracket that doesn't get used to mount the LS3 fuse block between the chassis fuse block and AC mounting brackets: 138910
Next I started looking for a place to locate the ECU, since I started on the body work late in the summer I decided to not leave the body outside again this winter and set it on the chassis. That turned out to be a good move as it really allowed me to see exactly what spaces were available between the chassis and the body. It appeared that there was just enough room above the pedal box to locate the ECU. I started by making two brackets: 138911
Here they are mounted: 138912138915
Next I installed the ECU and secured it with the three bolts, but then I discovered there was not enough space to install the three harness connections, so out came the ECU, the connections made and then I put it back, at that point I discovered I could not reach the mounting point on the long bracket closest to the center of the truck, so I bolted it in at just two locations and it is plenty solid. 138913138914
