Can someone post a picture of how to attach the sides of the dash? I can not seem to picture how it connects from the manual and all the pictures i have search of the dash all cut off the sides. So I cant see the one part I want to see. Thanks

They really aren't attached to anything. Bend them to tuck in behind the door hinge and cut 2"off the PS dash end of you have the aluminum dash.

Thanks, so they are only attached by the 5 screws in the hoop and the braces underneath? Yes basic aluminum one.

It can't go anywhere, I have never used braces underneath either

I made some aluminum L brackets and 3M dual lock velcro to avoid visible screws in my dash. I am using the under dash brackets for a more solid feel and also to install some switches/ buttons that I didn't want on the dash.

Quite a few guys bend the end at just the right place so they can run a screw through it into the firewall aluminum like this.

I prefer not to. I run it more like the red line in the pic. The end 8-9 inches of the dash will nestle in under the the edge of the body. The very end sits on top of the frame side of the hinge and is captured by the body. This is my old mkII.

The driver side leave as is. The passenger side will need to be shortened some.
