What can be done to remove the scroll bar that is on all the pictures that folks take.
It just messes up the whole forum. Its hard to get people to migrate to this one if it is not at least as user friendly.

Some forums I am on automtically resize the image to fit, where as others place a thumbnail and you have to click on it to see the full size image. Makes the page load faster and you only enlarge the ones you care to see...

Isn't that a product of the size of the picture?

I've seen some pictures that are two or three photos edited together to be one long picture. Like the person is trying to get all of the photos on one spot for an ebay auction so they are not charged for adding them seperately.

Al, what browser are you using? Operating system? What is your screen resolution?

Doesn't matter what computer I am on. I post pics on the other forum and they are perfect.. Anybody that post pic on this forum has a scroll bar at the bottom.. David, don't you have a scroll bar going right left.

Scroll bar on this pic... look at this link... you tell me which one you had rather look at.
Just to make sure I am saying it right.. there is a scrool bar within the picture. If somebody post 5 pictures.. I have to go all the way to the bottom to move the picture right and left to see it all.

No, I don't. That's why I'm asking for the info above. I want to replicate it so I can fix it for ya.

I think it is probably a browser or screen resolution issue. Do you know how to get to those settings?

Karen, new Smilies are on their way.

Anyone who is having this issue and is in front of their PC, AND has access to a phone, PM me your phone number. I have a way to see what you are seeing, if you let me...

Dave, this is just a resolution setting issue in the browser. If you click on "View", "Zoom", you can change it so it fits (100%, 75%, etc) but it also makes the text smaller and harder to read for some. Check the native pic sizing for the forum; it might be able to be changed as well so it doesn't take up the whole post window.

At work I'm 800x600, windows xp, IE.. don't know the version, can't let anybody see my work computer.. I would be hung.

I can put my zoom on 50% and the scrol bar goes away.. but I can't read the letters..

On both work and home computers.. banners are plum off the screen... On the Home page.. the pic overlaps on the right side, typed word lays over pictures..

Al, thanks for letting me know. I can see that you would have an issue on a machine running 800x600. Our banners are 800 pixels, and we allow linked pics up to 1600 or 1900 pixels, definitely a problem for you.

I'll look into what adjustments we can make so you can use the site without scrollbars.

Running 1920-1080. Looks amazing on my end. 800-600 is wayyy to small!!

800x600 is so 90s! ;) I hope you're not running windows 97. Just kidding!

I think I know what you guys are talking about.... but when I go up on the pix size.. my letters are so small I can't read them.... wait... that's assuming I can read!!!
Don't worry about it.. no biggie... but I don't think I'm the only having the problem..
Thread on another location about the format not being user friendly.

Al, I want to talk about that too, and feel more comfortable talking about it here than there...

You say "user friendly". How much of that is due to the screen resolution? If I'm looking at the site in 800x600 resolution it would seem pretty cluttered to me as well. As a matter of fact, when the site was designed it was to a minimum 1024x768 resolution.

I'm in the process of putting a form together so we all can have some input as to what their site experience is, and how can it improve. I'll make sure to ask about screen resolution as part of the study. I should have it done in just a few days and I'll get your feedback before posting it.

I really appreciate you voicing your concern and I assure you, it's being heard.

More soon...

I'm on about 10 forums everyday... and maybe signed up with about 50...This is the only one I have problems with.
Just checked my home laptop... setting on 1400x1050

Al, I can't replicate what you are describing. I know what you are saying, but it doesn't happen on my machines. No scroll bars on pics, either here or on ffcars.

I sent you a PM. If you'd like me to see what you've got, give me a call...

1920x1080 here and no issues..
Key is to size your res to your monitor size.
I'm on a 24" LCD and fine BUT if I was on a 17"
I'd go to 1024x768..
800x600 to me is laptop with a 15.1 screen
Also if one hosts the pics on imageshack there is an option to resize for certain resolutions
and I generally use 1024x768

Al, just a quick note to let you know I haven't forgotten about your issue. I had a honey-do list a mile long this weekend! I'm going to work on it this week instead. Bear with me...
