Any suggestions for preventing dust that accumulates on my Mark II body, despite being under a cloth car cover in the garage ?
Thanks !

Take it out every weekend and launch it really, really hard.

All kidding aside, what about a Car Bubble?

Not sure how to prevent it but I always use a California Customs mop made to dust off the car. It seems that fiberglass will build a static charge and attracts dust more than steel. I tried clipping a ground wire to the car but didn't see much difference.

When you say "cloth cover," what material exactly? An actual car cover should dramatically reduce dust from accumulating under it. Also, keep a good detail spray on it like Griots Best in Show detail. My car is black and it never has dust when I take the cover off.
One more thing. Depending on the garage and how often that door is opened, you'll get dirt coming in. So a trick I picked up a while ago was to keep a fan running in the garage all the time. This is very helpful for high humidity areas and trying to keep the moisture of from settling on stuff, but I find it works for dust too. The analogy I was given is iced tea. When you are stirring in sugar, it stays suspended in the tea. But when you stop stirring the sugar settles on the bottom of the glass. Never stop stirring. I run a 2' box fan all the time. It helps prevent fumes from accumulating too.

Thank you for your responses !
p.s. love the launch of the 'mini', GoDadGo !
Ceramic coat helps a lot. I only have to wash mine maybe once or twice a year. I had a full paint correction and Xpel put on the cobra, but all my daily drivers have the DYI version using AvalonKing. Both have been solid for me.

Duke,
did you PPF the entire car? I did, but they couldn't get every inch due to the curves. I'm not happy with the job actually. I made them do it twice.
Oh, and on topic: the new spray on ceramic coatings are VERY good, especially for these garage queens (as opposed to DD'ers). Griot's 3 in 1 ceramic is excellent, and so is Chemical Guys Hydro SPEED. That one I just used for the first time and it's got incredible slickness to it. Both are very easy to apply. I then top them both after every ride before putting the car away with Griot's Best in Show quick detailer. It's compatible with the above. I did this over the paint protection film on both my weekend cars and used it on my DD'er (without film).
On my DD'er, using the Griot's 3 in 1, there was a bad storm. The neighbor's gutter blew off and spewed sludge all over my DD'er parked in the driveway. My brand new white Audi looked like a college frat house toilet on sunday mornings. Before I could get around to washing the car, it rained again. My car looked like it had been washed by the Car Detailing Fairy when I was sleeping, that's how clean it was, just from rain.

I only did a small area on the lower front, on the top of the doors, and the lower rear fenders where it always chips from rocks. They did Opti-coat Pro on the ceramic and I love it.
