Heh all-

Had to break down my steering column to fix the horn wiring. I destroyed the steering wheel boss getting it free. I believe its a MOMO part, but I've been unable to get the right one from 2 suppliers based on description. Anyone have the MOMO part number OR a spare one they aren't using?? Thanks.

I have one of the newer Factory Five hub/bosses don’t know if it will work for you. Here are some pics

Thanks for the suggestion, Chuckster. Not sure that will work though. The GM column has the horn contact sticking out of the column. It needs to feed through the boss. The FF (MOMO) part has a cutout, shown in the attached pic.

I know this boss is a commodity, Jegs has a bunch of options. Just need the MOMO number.

Wow! I'm trying to figure out how yours got tore up like that!
Here's the C5 Momo hub adapter :

I was going to say that it appears one of the reasons it was destroyed is because of the collapsible safety feature. Far different from the FFR hub. Here is what it says on the Pegasus site...

"The collapsable structure is designed to absorb an impact, deforming the hub instead of your ribcage."

Yeah, absolutely the collapsible part is relatively weak. But it's still strong. So I'm guessing it got stuck on the splines and had to be slide-hammered off. I'm also assuming he realized there was a nut in there holding it on.

I just looked up that I got the same thing from Summit. Both suppliers are out of stock at the moment. Amazon is out at well and is stating that their fastest delivery is March 16-18. Hope you didn't need a quick replacement.

Yes, it was stuck on the splines and took some creative tooling to get it off. Umm, and yes I removed the nut before trying to break it free. The collapsable feature proved itself! All major vendors are back ordered b/c Momo has been on lock down for months due to COVID. I found it at a smaller supplier in GA. We'll see if they actually have it. Pegasus is out as well. Thanks

Unless you are really going for Momo, NRG sells one that is supposed to fit the C5 column and has cutout for horn wire. Part# NRG Innovations SRK-170H Hub.
Haven't installed yet so can't confirm spline fit myself but I bought one a little while ago to make room for quick release while keeping the steering wheel in the same position.

Check these in my car, with some work this could cost much lower than 1K, 6 input plus functioning Horn button all through the standard NRG quick disconnect contact ( 2 pins Ground and Signal), these is no other connections even for the lights, the output go from 0 to 12v for whatever you want.
