Hi all,
I have had difficulty getting the FFR e-brake to release. I did the compression spring thing on the caliper end, but still the friction was too high to let the cable release. I finally replaced the FFR cables with Wilwood Universal Parking Brake Cables and now all is well. I made a support for the Wilwood cable end bracket and bolted it to the transmission A-frame. Now the cables still run under the round chassis tube, but at least the cables are now in a sheath so they are not exposed nor rub.

I did the same thing, but used a different manufacturer's "high-performance" set deployed by an EStopp kit. No worries now.

Great minds think alike.
