Hey Folks!

Just joined up to browse and lurk, mainly right now. I’m interested in building an FFR roadster and have been for a long time. I’ve been a classic car guy for decades and am fortunate to be able to do my own paint and bodywork. I’ve restored a lot of cars and have taken Gold at MCACN as my top honor in the restoration hobby! I’m confident those skills will help me assemble one of these cool kits. I’ve done one other kit before, and that was a Street Beast (yeah...I know:eek:) 34 Ford 3-window coupe. It was a fun experience since luckily I might have bought that kit prior to them tanking and screwing many people.

I’ll be browsing for answers to my questions. I’m scratch building a BMW 507 right now, so that’s taking up some time. I figured to get the inspiration going, putting together a 427 Roadster would keep my momentum going and have something to have fun with while the weather is nice for driving around in Texas before it gets a billion degrees again!

Nice to meet yous guys! I’m originally from NJ and can’t say y’all yet!:D

Cheers
Dave

Dave,

A Street Beast was like a collection of parts compared to building a Factory Five MK-4 which is really a well-refined machine that you get to make your own.
You won't be sorry if you build one and will likely find that it is way easier, plus once completed the iconic looks of the Cobra is a show stopper.
Having done the 34 Street Beast makes me feel like you could easily tackle the Daytona which is a bit tougher than the Roadster.
Just know that those cars MUST have A/C especially since you live in the Great State of Texas!
Welcome Aboard But More Importantly, Welcome To The Family!

Thanks, guys! Should be a fun one! I’d like to just do a basic build but like everything we all do, once down that road it’ll be “Well, it sure would look better with those XxXxXx on it”. ;)

I’ll be lurking around...

Cheers

I did the basic build because I knew I was going to use a lot of aftermarket items. Take your time, research build threads, and determine what you want. I enjoyed chasing the parts down that I saw everyone else incorporating in their builds. In a few cases I used some parts that others may have overlooked. It's going to be your car. Make it that way and enjoy the ride. It's worth every penny.
