Finally getting around to checking into my fuel gauge issue.
I pulled the sending unit and bench tested it. 16-160 ohms on the unit.
Reconnect the wiring and tested it at the connector in the dash. Same reading.
On my oil gauge a wire disconnected on the circuit board so I figured I’d better double check. Sure enough one of the yellow wires was loose. I soldered it back on and reconnected the gauge. When I actuated the float it would go from empty to full, although pretty slowly.
Put everything back together and now it will very slowly creep up to 3/4 tank when I turn the key to the left, but when I turn it to contact and all the other gauges go to their respective positions the fuel gauge stays on empty. I also recalibrated but it didn’t make a difference.
What am I missing?
