I sat in the car with the low back seats & had +5" of head room & lots of leg room. What effect will the hi-back seat have on these comfort & fit dimensions ?

All depends on the seat you chose. A high back Kirkey will most likely not change things that much, but a reclining Recaro will put you up higher.

Custom built car so you can make it fit you. I used the Kirkey high back seats with Kirkey floor mounts on 1 inch square tubing and I added a back mount for extra support. The extra height gives me better outward vision. The only issue with the Kirkey seats is they make it more difficult to get into and out of the car, if you are + size you will not fit.

Getting in was not easy & getting out was even more "not easy". I am 6' & around 210lbs so not ++ but would like the seat higher for better vision out the front. I am leaning towards the hi-back.

How is the ease of getting in & out with the Recaro ?

Big issue with the Kirkey's is the shoulder bolster sticking out to keep you firmly planted in the seat. Most regular seats do not have that issue.

I used Racetech seats with head restraint, also dropped floor to be flush with bottom of car allowing more clearance with helmet on, im 5'9 and have a couple of inches from roll bar, my co -driver is 6'3" and he is pretty damn close to the bar, but clears none the less

I did a good write up on Sparco seats. Quite pricey but safe. Section 3.9 in the table of contents will direct you to several posts on it

I went with the Grid-Q seat.
