Hello to all I have just bought a MK1 FFR . The rear is set up with mustang factor lower control arms and springs my question is can this be changed to coil overs and a 3 link its is the 8.8 with disk brakes. also are there any other up grades or safety things you suggest for a MK1 frame.
thank you

Yes, there is a 3 link retrofit kit available. It requires some cutting and drilling but no welding.

I did the 3-link retrofit in 2007 to my MK1, one of the best upgrades period. Couple of things I remember, I pulled my gas tank before, the extra space will help not to mention the sparks that will fly during the cutoff of one of the four link bracket as well as grinding down the weld to fit the mount bracket. I got my my banana bracket welded on, if you do make sure that they know what they are doing or they can warp an axle tube. I had to remove my passenger seat and cut a hole in the panel to drop in the bolts for the bracket.
