Since I'm on my 3rd nail/screw (always a rear tire) and I've now extended the length of my cruises I was looking for a small/light spare.

Got this from a Ford dealer:

FR3Z-1K007-C Mustang Spare Tire kit with Jack & Wrench

I just need to find a tube below the trunk floor to mount the hold-down to.

Cool! Before I riveted the rear floor down I fabricated a box over the fuel tank to hold a jack, tools, gloves, etc. I’m going to build a replica of the tire holder the original Daytonas had in them. As for the jack, in keeping this car as light as I reasonably can, I’m going to use a jack from a Porsche 944, they were aluminum, very light.

Rather than carry an actual spare, I always carry a large can of fix-a-flat. Having picked up several screws {and a piece of angle iron once!} I've found the gooey liquid works great to get you home and doesn't take up a lot of the valuable trunk/storage space.

What is the collapsed height of the jack, please? i.e. What ground clearance can it get under?

I bought this a while back because I thought it was cooler than cool.
Hopefully, I won't need to use it, but you never know.

Add a 12-volt air compressor, a plug kit, and a couple of pairs of plyers to yank those pesky nails and screws.
You'll be on your way before you know it.

Looks good, thanks for the info.
I'd still like to know the info on the Ford jack included with the Mustang kit...Anyone?

Ford jack lowers to sub-3".

That said, I do not know if it would have enough leverage to lift from that low.
It has a nifty, foldable lug wrench (fits my lugs) that can be used to crank the jack- so maybe it would have enough force.

I've not used it as the lift end seems to fit a pinch-weld or some jack point.

However, if you search eBay for F8AC-17035-AA you will find some with flat lift-pads.

For example: https://www.ebay.com/p/2180458574

How high do you need to lift your frame-rail to get a tire off the ground with the suspension at full-droop to remove a tire?

Thank you Dave: Appreciate getting exactly what I wanted to know, before buying the "mini spare" kit. I'll go ahead and buy one now. I've driven 1250 miles now, but get nervous about being stranded with a flat.
