Has anyone tried Steel-it? I’ve got all my stuff powder coated and did not want to go back for just my hood hinge. I found Steel-it and from the video it appears to be pretty durable. It’s even weldable. Just want to see if anyone here has used it.

A friend uses it on the off road truck he races, on frame and suspension parts. It looks good and seems to hold up well.

The video I watched the guy said they use it on Baja buggies. It’s not cheap ($31.50/can aerosol) but it’s cheaper than powder coating.

OK, why are we using $30 a can paint, when rustoleum will do the same job for a fraction of the cost. It's the hood hinges, not a frame component subject to harsh road conditions

Most rattle can spray will scratch off even with a finger nail scratch. This is much more durable. Oh, and it’s only money.

I have been using and recommending Rustoleum Hammered for ages. But this looks like it is better. I will let you know in a couple months after I make a couple of shock brackets for another project.
