Jeff Miller is painting my body so I'm trying to get everything ready to put it on. I'd like to get the alignment done now, at least preliminarily, while the body is off and access is good. I stopped by a local tire/alignment shop today to make arrangements. The tech said he didn't want to do it. He said it takes too much time, he has not done one, is too hard to do, he doesn't have the specs he needs, etc. Does any one have experience with a good shop in or near Mesa, Az.? If not, how do you find a competent shop? Is it a bad idea to do alignment without the body?

I dont believe it’s at all necessary or even helpful to do it with the body off. I’ve had mine done twice and the issue is usually getting it on the ramps they use. Ive been turned away without even trying to get the car on them. The last shop I used did sports cars - Corvettes and the like. They had no problem doing it but quoted $250 initially, I talked them down to $175 which I thought was still high considering a four wheel alignment runs $87 for the family car. If you follow the instructions on doing it yourself you can get it close enough to be street-able, at least for the short term.

I can take care of it but it needs to be done after the body is on and everything is in the car.

Thank you. I won't have the body on until April. I'll bring it by. I just thought it would be easier access for you to do it now with the body off. I'm happy to wait.;

The weight changes the height which will change the alignment.
