View Full Version : I saw this on B.A.T. and it would make a great donor because of the drivline

Though I'd hate to see this car taken apart for the driveline; however, if it goes for a reasonable price it might be worth doing.
It's got the right engine with the right transmission for a very period correct build.

yeah, great looking car! I've been eyeing that one on BAT - it was recently listed on Ebay though for a "buy it now" of about $50k so it is not likely a candidate for a cheap drivetrain swap

Steve, Steve, Steve...
As much as I like our Factory Five roadsters pulling that car apart to stick the drivetrain in one of 'em would be criminal! Let me put it into a bowtie perspective for ya'---it would be like taking the engine out of a '69 ZL-1 to stick in an S-10 bracket racer :p

I like the idea of a ZL-1 S-10!
Also, aren't all Ford's worth using as donors?
Isn't giving them a new lease on life, once installed in one of our cars, the best use for them?

Absolutely, because you can't with a cheby
Awesome liquor hauler.
Steve, Jeff, GoDad,
You're missing the point. Gumball is on the money here. Think about NASCAR roots. That's what this car is all about.

Absolutely As Usual Sir Jeffski!
It's a very nice car that I'm sure someone would love to own it based on the bidding; however, it's about as sexy as a 1980 Ford Fairmont.
Here's an idea if it sells low; yank the 427 and replace it with a 390 or 428, and put that 427 side oiler in a MK-4.
Then paint the MK-4 to match and keep them both.
Also, what's the name you gave me?
