So stoked. I'll start the inventory tomorrow. Bob Stewart is a great guy. Shame he couldn't stick around longer or I'd have thrown some food on the grill. Word spread fast and a bunch of neighbors showed up to watch and partake of a beer in celebration. Car is just off the truck and I'm already having a great time. :D
There's my baby. Last one on the truck.

Well I placed my order Aug 5, and it was delivered Oct 7 but about a week of that time was thanks to me being out of town for my kid starting college and FFR build school.

So I finished my inventory and I'm only missing the box with the dash lights. Oh and they sent me 2 (say it with me) drivers side roll bars. And my wheels are back-ordered. I'm frikkin worn out. Time for a shower and a bit of TV before I crash out. Tomorrow I build my body buck. Good times.

A month. But like I said, there's at least a week of delays caused by me being out of town. Bob Stewart told me I'd have gotten the car by the end of Sept if I hadn't been at build school.

So FFR said it was complete, you called Stewart gave them the date and it took Stewart basicly 3 weeks to delever your Rod? I'm just trying to get a idea of how long it will take till I get mine. FFR gave a complete date of 22 Oct.

Yea pretty much. Others have had bigger delays. I remember one taking closer to 6 weeks.

I just got a call from Stewarts trucker, Bill, and mine will arrive tommorrow afternoon. So, that puts it at a month from ordering. Just recieved the radiator and steeing shaft via Fed Ex yesterday. Wiil have to unload at our church parking lot about three miles away onto my trailor. We haven't had rain in 150 days until the 2.5 inches we got yesterday, so the big rig won't be able to drive on my land lest it sink into oblivion. Since it won't be on a roller into the garage and will be placed on my trailor, will some cut 4x4's give enough clearance so the body wont touch the bed of the trailor? Anybody know?

My complete date was Oct 1. Stewart delivered others at West Virginia on the 4th, then Michigan, then Wisconsin and called me this morning on they're way here to southwest Oklahoma. So it will have been 9 days from FFR completion date.

From order to receive date, I believe was about two weeks.
Side note: I don't know if anything has changed as far as company policy (Stewart) but my roadster showed up at 10:30 at night. It would have been better if the guy had waited until early the next morning but I guess those drivers have schedules to meet too. Unfortunately, I was the last delivery so the driver and I shuttled roadster and then many boxes along a jeep trail about a 100' and then down the side driveway (another 300') also dirt to the garage concrete. The big truck couldn't get any closer to the property. I remember how nice the driver was. It must have been a nightmare for him after spending all day unloading cars under normal conditions (saving the hardest job for last is so much fun). I think we finished at about 1:30 AM maybe 2. I watched him drive away scraping against the pala verde trees and cholla muttering under his breath, "thank God". After crashing into the bed and sleeping for a short time, I awoke early the next morning and had the same energy as when I was six on Xmas morning. I'm sure you know the feeling. Strangely enough, I had already forgotten most of the downside of the event a few hours ago except a little muscle pain. It sounds like you've already started off better. Good luck. WEK.

Nick C,
Be quick with Bill and get him on back on the way. I'm next on the list and if I don't get it on Tuesday I have to wait until Thursday. LOL. Have fun with the build. I will finish my body buck tomorrow wait for the call.

Hey Nick C - you should be fine with the chassis resting directly on the trailer, since the 4" rails are the lowest point by about an inch and 3/4. A 2x4 or 4x4 with a little piece of carpet under each point the chassis rests on to prevent scratching any powdercoat.
Have fun getting started!

Dave,
It sounds like you haven't contacted Stewart yet. If that is the case get in touch with them ASAP and let them know the targeted completion date. They need as much notice as possible to work out their loads and routes. Even at that it can easily be a week or more from the completion date to the time Stewart leaves Wareham with your car depending on others making up the rest of the load.
Cheers,
Jeff

Congratulations! I like the attitude about not competing in the "build race." I'm with you on that one; I just passed the two-year anniversary of the start of my build and still don't have wiring, engine, or trans in yet. I really like just tinkering on the car as my time allows - it'll be over soon and I'll be driving and looking for another project.

Thanks man. Folks who know me know that I'll be getting nutty about all sorts of little details so I'd have no chance in a build race anyway. Truth be told though, my budget is the primary dictator that I take my time. The build I want is not a cheap one and It'll be at least a year before I've replenished my toy account enough to get the motor and trans I want. Add to that my kid being accepted to an expensive college (Stanford) and I'm fortunate to be able to do this at all.

Anybody know?Yes it will also if you screw two 4x4 together use a 4 inch hole saw to make a hole thru them you can use that to clamp the frame rail to your trailer instead of trying to get tie downs on the frame somewhere .That setup worked for a 1100 mile trip back from FF when I picked up my car just put a rag on the block before screwing the blocks back together over the frame rail.

They are chrome. Let me talk to them first and see how they want to handle it. PM me your real name and I'll mention you to them and if they're ok with what you're proposing I'm up for it. Are you the guy who has the passenger side bar?
