HELP! MK3 Kit Verification

I’m in conversation with a seller who doesn’t have the paperwork to prove the kit is indeed a MK3 from FFR. Is there another way I can verify? Is there a stamp somewhere on the body or frame? Thank you!

Mark 3 had a serial number on the frame just above your left knee as if you were sitting in the car. Mark 1 and 2 did not. Mark 4 did not have exterior trunk hinges and had a round and not square x brace in the engine compartment.

In addition to the info Gordon provided a look at where the steering shaft exits the driver’s foot box is a quick identifier; if it comes out the side wall and runs to an intermediate joint and pillow block it’s pre-Mk3 but if it exits out the front bulkhead below the master cylinder and runs directly to the steering rack it’s Mk3 or later.

My Mk3 had the chassis number in the same location as the Mk1 and 2’s and not as Stated above. Although it was an early Mk3. If it is not there look inside the square tube above the left rear tire in the left rear tire wheel opening.
