I ventured out today on a solo drive and set my sights on Deckers, Colorado.

After some fantastic twisty roads, I found myself at the end of the asphalt.

That was a hoot - I had almost as much fun as you. But - were you playing the song while driving?

a few years ago Bobby talked me in to driving that route. He told me it was all paved except for about a mile. Uhhh, no. :)

Yeah, I seriously thought about turning around, but there simply wasn't any safe place to do it. I drove back from Deckers to 285 near Pine and then back to C-470. The other option was to head to Colorado Springs, but that's quite a bit farther and it was already late in the day.

It's hard to see how steep some of this drive was from the perspective of the camera. Going into the worst of it, the sign indicated a 15% grade.

For reference for those that live in relatively flat parts of the country, the steepest grade allowed on a federal highway is 6-7%.
