I would like to lower the clutch pedal height on my MK3 roadster. I looked under an access panel and see a arched mechanism with fine gear teeth on it. It looks like the cable is pulled by this and the actual pedal operates a toothed piece that is held against the curved teeth with a spring. Is this something that keeps the cable tight when you let off the pedal? Is it possible to limit the up travel of the actual pedal? If so cold you release this meshed gear and then have it adjust to where the new pedal height is? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks again Jim

You can put a stop in to keep the pedal from coming all the way up. by pivoting the small plastic part towards the front of the car it released the quadrant and allows the clutch pedal to move freely. This will give you s the slack needed to put the pedal where you want. The only down side its you lose the auto adjustment when the pedal is in the rest position.
No big deal really

Where did you put your limiter for the pedal? Thanks so much Jim

Problem is solved. The adjuster for some reason was all the way tight. I used a screwdriver to release the spring loaded piece that was operated by the clutch pedal. I moved about half way up the quadrant. I then pushed the clutch pedal a couple times. It now enguages just like a stock mustang would. It is much easier to drive. Very happy. On to the next fix!. Thanks you all
