Another Hooked on Driving HPDE.

Changes to the car:
Nitto NT01s all around (275x18 front, 305x18 rear)
Hawk DTC-60 front and HPS rear brake pads (Ford Cobra 13" front, Ford 2015 IRS 13" rear)

Three sub-1:50 laps. Still getting used to the extra braking. Data via Harry's Lap Timer- GPS speed seems to lag but still interesting.

After the 4th session I noticed a slow oil leak/drip from the oil pan so I sat out the 5th session.
I feared a rear main seal but stuffing a rag up in there to isolate the leak I saw that it was the pan leaking at a weld- I do remember hitting something at the bottom of the corkscrew so I think that was it. So lucky it was just a nick like this. My pan does hang about a quarter of an inch below the frame- time to raise the engine/trans a bit.

The car is a Gen III Coupe #17
carburetor Ford Racing Boss 302 (345 hp)
TKO600, IRS, Nitto NT05s
my own quiet side pipes

That is really impressive. I loved my virtual ride along and the still pics are very well done also. The one coming out of the corkscrew is definitely a candidate to be made into a poster for your garage or shop. It is an iconic spot and to have your own car there is awesome. Heck depending on your wife's thoughts, I'd be looking at putting it in the house somewhere.
