Guys

Just paid for both my MKIV kit and a Coyote from Forte today, a lot poorer :)

I will be building in Issaquah South Cove area and should get the car from Stuart Trucking in early to mid Nov. I have never done something like this so should be interesting. I spend the last couple of months reading the forums and build logs with lots of notes. The garage is almost ready, had to clear out 20 years of stuff.

I do have one question for PNW folks, any good local body and paint folks? I see that there is one in LA area but that seems a little far!

Look forward to meeting you all when it is an actual running auto!

Cheers

Mike

No one has welcomed you yet? Let me be the first then!

I remember the feeling too of being excited and also the feeling of being broke or closer to it.

There are various ones of us in the area that can also chime in and I'm up in Marysville building a Coupe.

Enjoy!!

Welcome!

I'm building a MkIV over on the dry side of the state (Tri-Cities). Stewart Transport dropped it off in August. It's been a fun journey so far.

congratulations Mike I'm in Petaluma trying to find a space to build a MKIV. I'll be awaiting your reports on your build.

Welcome Mike! Love Petaluma and was out there many years ago implementing systems for a retailer named Illuminations Candles.

Welcome Mike. I am a bit more than 1/2 way through my MK4 build up in Bothell. I have not heard of many shops around here that has experience painted these cars. Hopefully someone else chimes in with something.

Welcome Mike, I am down in South Tacoma built mine in 17. A few of us around here took ours down to Jeff Miller (the Bat) down in Temecula, CA. Let me tell you it is worth the trip down. Prices up here in the NW start at 12k and go up. Jeff will do it for substantially less. Shop around you will see. Or you could do it yourself.

Thanks for all of the welcome(s). To Paul2STL comment, I dont think I want to try painting it my self, the body work, getting it all straight, and then all of the paint processes - hum. I might look at taking to down to LA, I have a car that will tow and a friend with a trailer that should fit the car. Do you know if he like on body or off body painting? Matt thanks for being the first one to say hello!

I also have this airplane on order but it will be a few years before I have to worry about that - http://raptor-aircraft.com/. Its getting ready for first flight and you can follow along with the vid blog.

I dont think that I have the time or talent but do a build log. But i will be asking a lot of questions for sure. I am amazed at the detail people like EdwardB put into the documentation of his build. I am still working for a living so that just not what I have time for :)

Cheers all

Mike

Jeff prefers the body on, because not all frames are exactly alike. He does all the panel fitting and gaps while on the frame. The he will assemble it back on your frame once painted and set all the gaps. For the price he does an excellent job.

I am going to go with the BluePrint 347 in mine. So glad someone close by is getting one around a similar time as me to bounce questions off of!
