Reverse lights

I am told I need reverse lights on my roadster to get registration in MD. Has anyone put back up lights on their car? Would like to see some pictures if you have don this. What lights you used also.

Kawell K6-6218 18w LED. I bought this in 2018 and checking on Amazon today, I couldn't find this exact item. But, you get the idea. I got the idea from another forum member (don't remember who), so I can't take any credit for this one. My opinion - it works great. My only mistake was that my first set of mounting brackets weren't long enough and the lens didn't extend below the body.

There are several folks that have added backup lights to their builds. Some do it because it's a requirement in their state and others do it just for safety reasons. If you're doing it because it's a requirement in your state, you may also want to take into consideration that if the inspector is detailed enough to be looking for a backup light, they may also be detailed enough to check to make sure that it's DOT-certified. From what I've heard, most inspectors will not even check for a light (even if it is technically required) and an even smaller percentage will check to make sure it's DOT-compliant, but I sure would hate to fail an inspection for that reason.

After asking a similar question and looking at all the creative solutions that folks came up with, I decided to go with the Mini Cooper backup light.

Here is mine. Don’t recall the make but appears to be identical to Al_C’s. Works great and very bright. Subtle location does not detract from overall appearance.
