Good thoughts for your friends Steve. I hope their symptoms are on the mild side and they do not have to be hospitalized at any time.

He's in the hospital and doing well enough to not be in ICU.
Diane was allowed to go home since she's handling it better.
Typhoid Mary (Phil) still thinks he'll be at Road Atlanta next week.
I feel like I should hide his car and not answer his calls.

Phil's now recovered from COVID-19.
He will not be at Road Atlanta this week.
Thanks For The Spare Prayers Gang!

I don't know Phil and Diane, but I'm happy any time I hear that someone has recovered from this plague.
I loved watching the 908 video, so thank you for linking that in. I don't hit the forum much but that was a highlight of my morning. I've got a little time around an earlier one of those myself -- a chassis which was mostly piloted by Vic Elford back in the day.

Now painstakingly restored:
136056
136057
Thought Phil might enjoy seeing those pics. If he's ever over in East Texas, hook us up and I'll make sure to arrange him some time to hang out in the shop with the cousin of his example.
Cheers, John

Thanks for sharing your 908 with us!
Phil is still kicking himself for selling his 908-03, but he said it belonged in a museum.
He's sold his spare TOJ earlier this year and down to just his black and gold car.
At 73, he says he can only handle racing a few times each year.
Will forward your info to him.

I talked to Typhoid Mary (Phil) today and he's mad as hell that he's not at Road Atlanta.
His goal is to do an SVRA race there in November, but until then Diane's goal is to keep him home for 2 more weeks.

That is great news and quick!
His doctors took an interesting approach and we'll leave it at that.

Not mine, but a local good friend's car. (I wish...!) His "garage" pretty much is a private museum.
I'll tell you, on those 908 coupes...that is one snug fit, even for me. I've met Vic Elford a couple of times, and even in his 80s he's a bigger guy than I am. I'm not sure how he contorted himself into that car and still managed to win! Your buddy Phil gets a lot of credit for being 73 and still racing that kind of a machine at that level.
Cheers, John
