Hello
Anyone that is using a BluePrint engine and using the Fuel pump that came with it want to share how you did setup and mounting of it and filter? Pictures? Thanks.

Do yourself a big favor and do an in-tank pump!

Shop around for the pump, as prices are all over the map.

Thanks Dave
I may go that way but was really hoping to not spend a couple hundred more and use what I have.

I understand the $$ concerns, but external pumps are best mounted near the tank and as low as possible. With the pre-post filters and other plumbing, it starts to get very interesting and leaves a lot of fuel components fairly exposed. I was in the same boat and after many experienced builders all recommended the internal pump setup, I bit the bullet and went that route. There are some examples of external pump setups in these forums, just hard to find sometimes.

Watch NA5KAR’s video he posted yesterday “my progress video” near the end he shows his set up. I am with Papa on get the in tank pump. I put the in-line on my corvette to save cost. It worked but was super loud. It is a high pitched whine that everyone hears even with the car running.

I am running a carb but I assume that makes no difference.
So I can use the other parts that came with the kit would this bracket work?

Would that also change the pump needed since it is smaller connections?

Well, I feel like a dummy for assuming you were doing EFI. There are low-pressure in-tank pumps for carbureted applications. I just don't have any knowledge of what make the most sense for a carb setup.

I am probably the dummy for not saying that in the first place.

Hey Capt. I bought the Carb 347 engine from BPE too. In the included instructions he shows where he recommends mounting it. Do you not like that location ( back of the PS oval tube near the rear end. pg 19 with picture)? I plan on following the instructions outlined by BPE unless the experts on the site have a better idea.

Hey Capt off topic but was curious. Do you plan on running a rev limiter and which one if so? Thanks!

I don't have that instruction book. Where was it in the crate? Thanks

When I paid he emailed me the instruction file which included how to plumb coolant and gas as well as electrical hookup. Also includes instructions regarding the hydraulic TO bearing and trans. I sent you a PM

I have BPE's 347 carbed engine, and this is where I put our fuel pump:
https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=135705&d=1601317243
the alternative was to go with in-tank pump, but as I understand, it would require a return line and a pressure regulator. We decided to go with a route that was originally suggested by BPE
PS yes, it's loud but only when engine is not running. when engine is running, I do not hear the pump.
