Sorry if this is old, but I just happened across a show on the velocity network that seem to be dedicated to the cobra daytona coupe. pretty cool so far. It's making my want for the kit double lol. I need to rework the budget to accelerate the purchase date!

I watched the show with my wife...I already had the coupe then but she enjoyed the story so much she, out of the blue, surprised us with a travel package to the Indy 500.

Nice documentary.

That show (and seeing a Type65 in person a few weeks later at a car show) pushed me into ordering my kit in June of last year.

Ask Factory Five for a copy of their demo DVD. That'll fan the flames, too! :p

DVD should be in the mail. I guess they updated it along with the newest version. I am buying this, just need to save some green first. I am almost but not quite willing to sell my bird to have the cash on hand. Thats a 6 year project and still going. I dont think I could actually let go of that car. The coupe is going to happen though. Just a matter of time. I want to get a DVD of the show aor at least find out when it will be aired again. The wife is all about the project but doesnt like the rear of the car. I guess it's to chopped off for her. I think the show adresses why it is like that. Also I dont think you could wathc the show and not gain an appriciation for what it is.

I know last year when that show aired, a number of us bought this book from Peter Brock. Good detail of CSX2601 and photos from the Mecum Auction. It even came autographed, along with a nice note from Gayle.

Aww, crap. Link says sold out. Is there anywhere to get a copy of the show? And also, I am really interested in the book. I would like to educate myself as much as possible before I start the build. My endstate goal is to have a comfortable street version of the car, But I would like to have as many nods to the past as possible while still keepiing a modern perfomance and comfort level. So many great ideas and different roads that have been travelled here. I do have some good news as far as progress on my project. We have closed on the property that has the garage I need to do the build in. :) very exited to have that done. It will house My wifes new Fiat Spider for about a month or less while we finish up a few odds and ends. That car is road ready aside from the top and a few minor mods I will be making to it. It was actually suprisingly easy to work on and get back into shape. I dont understand why they are so cheap!
Anyways, the donor search continues and I am taking it one step at a time. Any other soures for info about the origional cars would be greatly appreciated.

It's a very cool show. THAT is the story of the American Can-Do ethic....or should I say, Gotta-Do! To get the inspiration from a German aerodynamics book from twenty years before; what a hoot! I also liked the three phases of any great idea; ridicule, resistance, accepted as self evident. The Wing Le Mans car comes to mind (I still don't like it).
