I don't know about most people in the Factory Five community, but for myself I have always wanted to build a kit car. When I stumbled upon the Factory Five I fell in love, then I became an Insurance Broker and found out that my boss built his own MK3! For me this was fate. I subscribed to the forum and began to read, I was very excited to see the improvements to the MK4, but when I heard rumours of a Subaru powered car with a price tag under $10,000 and a gel coat body that neede no paint I almost lost control of all bodily functions:D I see a lot of people saying that this is not a step forward but a step in the wrong direction for a company like factory five to want to offer this type of a kit, but I think this is going to be great! Keep up the great work and hope to get some more updated in the future.

I got that Chris Matthews leg tingling sensation. This just might be the one way I'll be able to get behind a Factory Five in the near future. Zoom Zoom!

I thought the original 'single donor' idea was terrific and pure genius. It was simple a case of being at the wrong place in my life for a project like that.

Now, the time is right and the same 'single donor' idea is just as great as ever. The fact that my original roadster roots have slowly been replaced through the years by a love for Subaru cars only cements the idea that this project is the right one for me.

So, Cliff Notes, terrible excited. The year or so of development is gonna be excruciating.

I am extremely excited! After building a MK3.1, I now have the itch to build another car. The MK3.1 is not going anywhere, but, it sure would like a companion in the garage. I followed the VW conversion that Mark is doing, but the design does nothing for me. It is a cool concept, but, geezzz, it looks like one of another 1billion other cars out there. This thing might just be the ticket!

I have been itching to build either a Coupe or Roadster for 4 years now and usually check the FFR website usually on a weekly basis to get my fix. Without even seeing pictures, a WRX based kit is at the top of my list.

I am excited! and as long as it has a roof option and A/C I'll be good on the home front :)

I am new on the forum, but have always put my eye on the factory5 cars. This one in particular has really caught my eye. I would love to build this one for sure. I have tried to draw up a car similar in this idea in solidworks but w/ work taking up much of my time it was hard to concentrate on doing so. So three cheers for Factory5 in doing this.

Ditto, I helped my bud build his MKII and it's still a droolfest whenever I see him in it. However, I want to do something mid-engined but the GTM is overkill for me right now.

With this kit, in a few years when I'm ready to switch out my WRX, instead I'll just use it as a donor for this kit and get a fuel-sipper for a DD and family car.

Way excited for this. Everytime I am driving my daily 2002 WRX, I imagine what it would be like to squirt out of a corner with half the weight and mid engine. :) So stoked for this kit. I hang out on the forums looking for new info and discussions to read.

I am 61 years old and I grew up watching and WANTING a Cobra back in the 60's. Over the years with houses, kids, work,college......etc. the Cobras went way out of reach but the dream was still there. We went on vacation to the Cape and I talked my wife into stopping at FF and "Talk about a 60 year old kid in a candy store!!!" I was open mouthed and tongue tied at the same time. FF made my dream come true! I'm still working on it and pinch myself now and then when I stop to take a look at the progress (slow that it is). I know what some people say...it's a FF not a Cobra.....but it's my Cobra and my dream and .........excited? that I am...OH YEA!!
