Cleaning silicone

What is the easiest way to clean excess silicone off the aluminum? I have bare aluminum with just shark hide. Thanks

Tricloroethylene works on silicones but not easily available

rpm has all kinds of sealant removers

Safety Kleen parts washer solvent will soften and swell the silicone

Not knowing what these will do to the underlying finish ...is up to you.

Here's a thread I started a bit ago that has some very helpful suggestions. For me, the combination of Goo Gone and Windex worked perfectly.
